Project Manager Support PMO

Responsibilities: The Project Manager will assist the government in developing and managing a centralized IT Transformation Office to support the various projects to transform the organization to save costs. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance of key progress tracking and reporting mechanisms between the PMO and its projects
  • Establishment of an integrated work plan that relates the key milestones of the individual projects and highlighted key areas of dependency between those projects
  • Structure and facilitation of the weekly, bi-monthly meeting with the PMO and the leadership 
  • Structure of issue and risk reporting and other management reporting needs
  • Development and execution of various PM plans for the PMO;
    • Communications Plan
    • Scope Document / Project Charter
    • RACI Document (Responsibility Assignment Matrix)
    • Deliverables Matrix
    • Other PMO Process Documents as required throughout the lifecycle of the Project(s)
  • Manage and direct the project through the PM life cycle processes of initiation, planning, executing & controlling and close-out
  • Determine, manage and control typical project components including, but not limited to scope, budget, schedule, deliverables, quality, risk, etc.
  • Work effectively with project sponsors and stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Utilize oral and written communication techniques to work effectively with project sponsors and stakeholders at all levels.


  • 5+ years of experience with setting up a PMO Office for large organizations
  • 5+ years of experience with development of Project Management Program Practices and Processes;
    • Scope Document / Project Charter
    • Schedule Management Plan
    • Issue/Risk Management Plan
    • Training Management Plan
    • RACI Document (Responsibility Assignment Matrix)
    • Communications Plan
    • Deliverables Matrix
  • Other PMO Process Documents as required throughout the lifecycle of the Project(s)
  • Experience with developing processes and setting up Change Control Boards 
  • Experience with managing Integrated Project Schedules
  • Experience with Visual Basic Macros to modify Project Plans
  • Experience with MS Project 2010 and SharePoint for Document Management
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience in writing VB Macros to automate Report Generation and tracking Project Metrics
  • PMP certified (Strongly preferred)
